For the most part, the Changchun Friends website is not very active and has been superseded by the Tencent "Wechat" app by the local expat community. This website is maintained sporadically, people may still join and membership is still open, but if you are a spammer, stay away. The archived information here is still useful, but some may be out of date. There are plans to make it more useful for static information in the future. If anyone needs information about Changchun or China, you may post a message and it probably will get a response but not immediately.
I am thinking of a joint Changchun Friends/Changchun Live discount card which, when shown at places that agree will give a discount - restaurants, bars, shops hotels etc.
Any views on this?

I know i should not think like that, i just want to abreact my mood. people are living in the same world, but they undergo different experiences in this unequal society.
I used to devote myself to prepare the TOEFL and SAT exams, sacrificed my break time to memorize the vocabulary. And then i applied to New York University, but they refused me.
Today, a girl ,i met several years ago, called me and tell me that she will go to NYU this September. But she told me…

I would be much obliged if some one could translate the following note that we just discovered on our door. We have already had one surprise two weeks ago. Returning from a short trip to Mudanjiang we found we had no power - had to throw all of our food out. Our employers were supposed to take care of that.
Is this note along those same lines. I'm just so tired of being nervous over things that supposedly we weren't even supposed to have to worry about.

I will start off with England:
England’s name originally comes from the term “Land of the Angles”, which was translated to Engla Land in Old English. The Angles were an ancient Germanic (or Saxon) tribe, one of the few that occupied the region now known as England…

THIS MIGHT BE ONE OF MY MORE THAN MANY USELESS BLOGS - BUT.
WHO ARE YOUR HEROES AND WHY?
Mine are:
Socrates (Greece) - the father of reason
Shankara (India) - the man who welded spirituality and reason together
May (China) - because she keeps my feet on the ground
I have many others but this is a starting point!

Mason is this jolly chap who keeps stealing content from this site and posting it elsewhere without asking us! Jolly good show. That is what I like to see - ethical business practices!
Anyway - he is very elusive - no-one has ever seen him! Is he the figment of some master of the Universe?
We seek him here!
We seek him there!
We Frenchies seek him everywhere
Is he in heaven?
Is he in hell?
Come on Mason, please…
